AI Brand Monitoring Tools (Official): Brand24, Mention, Meltwater, Talkwalker, Sprinklr
What Brand24, Mention, Meltwater, Talkwalker and Sprinklr officially ship for AI answers, what none of them publish, and how we add the AI search layer next to a listening suite.
Most of the companies we work with already pay for a listening suite. Comms runs Meltwater or Talkwalker, social runs Sprinklr or Brand24, and over the past year most of those vendors have added something with "AI" or "LLM" in the name. So the question we get is reasonable: do we still need a separate AI search tool, or does the suite we already own cover it?
To answer it we read what each vendor officially ships for AI answers, on its own product pages and help docs. Below is that read, followed by where we think the line sits.
Two different jobs
Brand24 draws the line well in its own marketing: the core product tracks what people say, while its AI product "monitors what AI says." We repeat that distinction to every comms team we work with. A post or an article is published once and stays put, so a crawler can collect it. An AI answer only exists when somebody asks, and the next person to ask may get a different one depending on the engine, the phrasing and the date.
Listening suites were built for the first kind of object. What we check is how far each AI module reaches into the second.
Brand24 and Chatbeat
The AI side of Brand24 runs on a product called Chatbeat. Engine coverage is broad: nine assistants and search surfaces, from ChatGPT and Gemini through Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode to Grok, DeepSeek and Copilot. For each one you get a brand score, your average position in answers, share of voice, sentiment, the sources that cite you most, and suggestions for improving GEO. Brand24 also ties the AI numbers back to the mentions its listening product already collects.
What we tell a comms team: this is the closest of the five to a full AI visibility tracker, but nobody can budget for it from the website. Brand24 does not list a price for the add-on, so it has to be quoted.
Mention, now part of Agorapulse
Mention changed hands in 2025, when Agorapulse bought it out of a court-ordered receivership. The help center now says you can no longer buy Mention on its own. The listening features live on as Agorapulse Listening, which watches the main social networks plus Reddit, TikTok, news sites, forums and the open web, keeps up to two years of history, and reports share of voice. It comes as an add-on to Agorapulse's higher tiers (Advanced or Tailored), or as a standalone deal through their sales team.
For AI answers we came up empty. Mention's one help article that mentions ChatGPT is about using the chatbot to draft Boolean queries for alerts, and the article itself calls this "not a dedicated feature of Mention." We could not find any Mention or Agorapulse product that tracks what AI engines say. If one exists, it isn't on their published pages. A team on Mention today should treat AI answers as uncovered.
Meltwater GenAI Lens
GenAI Lens is Meltwater's answer, and its engine list is long: nine in total, including Claude, Grok, Llama and DeepSeek alongside Google's two AI surfaces. Its main metric is a prevalence score, with AI share of voice next to it. You can tune the prompts, and the source tracking is built with PR in mind. It flags whether answers lean on earned coverage, press releases, Reddit or Wikipedia. GEO recommendations come with it. Meltwater says it is usually sold as an add-on to the main platform, with no public price.
There is one thing to ask on the sales call. The product page gives two different refresh rates: a 24-hour cycle in the main copy and 48 hours in the FAQ. Get the figure that applies to you written into the contract.
Talkwalker LLM Insights
Talkwalker now belongs to Hootsuite, so LLM Insights can be bought two ways: inside Talkwalker itself, or bolted onto Hootsuite Listening. It watches four engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity) and looks at how they talk about your brand, your competitors and the category. Beyond mention rate, share of voice and sentiment, it flags misinformation and gaps in the story the models tell. For a comms team, those last two are the most useful parts.
A later Hootsuite release added "Brand Perspective" prompt setup, a citations and sources table showing each domain's citation position, frequency and share of voice (you can click through to the cited URLs), and visibility and average-position scores. On Talkwalker's pricing page all three plans (Core, Analyze, Business) are quote-only. LLM Insights is part of Core, and Business adds more channels for it.
Sprinklr LLM Insights
Sprinklr is the newest of the five here. It unveiled LLM Insights on June 10, 2026 as part of Sprinklr Insights, opened it as a limited preview, and said general availability would follow in the third quarter. The feature is in the 26.7 release notes published in July. The product page names ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity and promises "more."
Where the prompts come from is what sets it apart. Rather than asking you for a keyword list, Sprinklr builds prompts out of what your customers already say to you on social, in reviews, in communities and in care conversations. The reporting covers visibility and sentiment, the domains doing the citing, trending topics, and a split by AI tool. Each prompt draws down your contracted allowance, so ask how many you get before the pilot. Sprinklr doesn't publish a price.
What none of the five publish
Read side by side, these modules do roughly the same thing. They sample AI answers on a set of prompts and report mentions, sentiment, share of voice and, in most cases, cited sources. That is useful, and for a comms team it lives in a familiar dashboard.
Here is what we could not find on any of their official pages:
- AI crawler logs showing whether ChatGPT's, Claude's or Perplexity's crawler fetched your pages.
- Visitor analytics that tie AI-referred sessions to conversions.
- Content agents that draft and publish pages to a CMS to close a gap.
Those three are where an AI search program turns a finding into a fix. A listening module can tell you that Perplexity cites a competitor's comparison page. It cannot tell you whether PerplexityBot ever read yours, and it cannot tell you whether the visits you did get from Perplexity bought anything.
How we set it up next to a suite
We do not ask clients to cancel their listening suite. It still covers social, press and reviews better than any AI search tool, and comms teams rely on it.
We add Promptwatch as the AI search layer, because it is the platform we run client programs on. It monitors the real interfaces of ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and the others, plus Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. Citation analytics go down to page, Reddit and YouTube level. Agent Analytics logs the AI crawlers and shows the crawl-to-citation path, starting on Professional at $245 a month. Visitor analytics record AI-referred traffic and conversions through a script or GTM. Content Agents publish to Webflow or Framer with a review inbox, so the SEO team can act on a gap without a new brief.
The division of labor is simple. Comms keeps the suite and reports sentiment and share of voice across social and press. The AI search report comes from Promptwatch, and the two numbers stay separate because they measure different things.
If your suite already has an AI module and you want to know what it is missing for your brand, send ten buyer questions to hello@1001seomedia.com. We will run them and show you the crawl and visit data alongside the answers.
