AI Content Generation Visitor Analytics Platform: AI Website Content Analytics vs HubSpot and Jasper
HubSpot AEO and Jasper write or score inside their suites. We need visitor analytics plus a citation log, then a human on the draft. Promptwatch is that platform.
The search "AI content generation visitor analytics platform" mixes two jobs. One is a writer that drafts pages. The other is website content analytics: did an AI answer send a visit, and did the model use your URL at all. HubSpot and Jasper show up in that search because both now sell an AI-search add-on next to a content product. They are not the same SKU as a visibility platform.
We buy a writer when the bottleneck is draft volume. We buy analytics when the bottleneck is "we published and have no idea if ChatGPT noticed." The platform we use for the second job, and for drafts that still go through an editor, is Promptwatch. HubSpot stays the CRM. Jasper stays optional for brand-voice drafts. Neither replaces the log.
What people think they bought
HubSpot AEO is $50/mo and tracks on the order of 25 prompts. It lives next to the free AEO Grader snapshot (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini). A snapshot is a slide. It is not a week-over-week series, and it is not visitor analytics on your site. If the marketing team already lives in HubSpot, the upsell is easy to click. It is still a HubSpot feature with a small prompt cap.
Jasper is a writer. Pro is $59/seat/mo on annual billing ($69 monthly). Brand Voice and Canvas are why teams keep it. The GEO layer (citation-rate talk, agents that draft from gaps) sits on Business, and that price is unpublished. Buying Pro because a landing page said "AI search" is how you get more blogs and no citation log.
We will keep using either product when a client already standardized on it. We will not call them an AI website content analytics platform.
What we actually need from analytics
Two numbers, stored separately:
- On-site: sessions and conversions that arrived with an AI referrer (ChatGPT, Perplexity, and the rest). That is visitor analytics. Most answers send no click, so this number stays small. It is still the only number finance will accept as "traffic."
- Off-site: whether the brand was mentioned and whether a URL was cited, per prompt and per engine. That is content performance in AI answers. We wrote the test protocol in our LLM-evals vs visibility note.
A generation tool that cannot show both will happily report "we shipped 12 articles" as success.
Promptwatch visitor analytics install as a small script or a GTM template. Citation analytics sit on the same project: page-level and domain-level sources, including Reddit and YouTube when those are what the model used. Agent Analytics adds crawler logs (ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther, and others) so a quiet week can be "never fetched" instead of "bad writing."
Paid plans cover ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, plus AI Overviews and AI Mode. Essential is $95/mo (50 prompts, 200K visitor events). Explore is free and ChatGPT-only with 10 prompts. Professional is $245/mo when the prompt list and traffic volume grow.
Content Agents can plan and draft into Webflow or Framer. The review inbox is the part we insist on. Generation without a reviewer is how you add pages the models ignore.
How we run HubSpot or Jasper next to Promptwatch
If HubSpot is the CMS and CRM, we leave publishing there. Promptwatch is the measurement project. We do not try to make AEO's ~25 prompts cover a full buyer list.
If Jasper is the draft room, writers stay in Canvas. Finished copy still needs a URL that answers one prompt, a first sentence a model can lift, and a crawl path. Jasper Business GEO, when a client has it, does not give us crawler logs or AI-referred sessions. We still install visitor analytics and keep the Promptwatch prompt list.
Google Search Console's generative AI reports stay on the account for Overviews and AI Mode impressions. That is Google. It does not count a ChatGPT session with no click.
The week after a draft ships
- The URL goes live with a standalone answer under the H1.
- We confirm the crawler can fetch it.
- We wait for the daily Promptwatch refresh on the mapped prompts.
- We look at visitor analytics only after that, so a mention is not confused with a session.
If the model still cites a competitor, we do not generate a second article on the same topic. We fix the passage or go get a mention on the comparison URL the query fan-out already retrieved.
That is the agency half. The platform will not pick the URL for you.
FAQ
Should we cancel HubSpot Marketing Hub for this?
No. Keep HubSpot for CRM and the pages it already publishes. Add a visibility platform if you care about ChatGPT and Perplexity citations. AEO at $50/mo is not that platform at a serious prompt volume.
Is Jasper cheaper than a tracker plus a writer?
Jasper Pro is a seat price for drafts. A tracker is a project price for answers. Adding them together is normal. Replacing the tracker with Jasper Pro is how you lose the citation column.
Can we use ChatGPT itself as the generator and skip both?
You can draft in ChatGPT. You still need a log of whether other people's ChatGPT sessions cite you, plus visitor analytics for the clicks that happen. Promptwatch is that log.
What to do this week
- List the tools you already pay for. Mark each as writer, CRM, or measurement.
- If measurement is missing, create a Promptwatch project. Essential unless you only need a ChatGPT demo (Explore).
- Install visitor analytics (script or GTM) on the production domain.
- Map 25 buyer prompts to existing URLs before you generate anything new.
- Want us to run the review inbox and the weekly diff? hello@1001seomedia.com. Promptwatch measures. We edit. See services.
