GetMint vs Promptwatch: how we compare them for client programs

How an agency compares GetMint and Promptwatch for AI search visibility work: engines, plan limits, crawler logs, content workflow and where each one fits.

When a client brings us a shortlist with GetMint and Promptwatch on it, we do not start with features. We start with what the client will do with the data six weeks in. Both tools track AI answers. They diverge on what you can learn about why those answers look the way they do.

What GetMint offers

GetMint is a French AI search platform. It tracks how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Alexa for Shopping mention a brand, then adds a GEO agent that ranks next moves and a Content Studio for briefs and articles. Data refreshes daily. The entry price is attractive: Starter is €74 a month and Growth is €299, both shown with the yearly toggle, and there is a free trial with no card.

The limits are worth reading. Starter tracks 2 AI models and one country, with 50+ prompts, 2 topics and 5 competitors. Growth moves to 3 models, 3 countries and 300+ prompts. The content allowance is one brief and article a month on Starter and six on Growth. API access is Enterprise only. The homepage mentions ten engines, so ask which ones your plan actually covers.

What Promptwatch offers

This is the platform we run client programs on. Prompt tracking carries volumes, difficulty scores and fan-outs per model. Citation analytics go down to page, Reddit, YouTube and LinkedIn. Agent Analytics reads IP-verified AI crawler logs. Visitor analytics attribute AI-referred traffic and conversions. The Action Board prioritizes a to-do list, and on Business the Content Agent plans, writes and publishes with a review inbox.

Pricing: Explore is free (10 prompts, ChatGPT only), Essential is $95 a month, Professional $245, Business $579. Agency plans are Kick-off $199, Growth $399 and Scale $799, with unlimited projects and prompts. Crawler logs start on Professional.

Where the difference shows up

The "why" question. A client sees a competitor named and asks why. With a tracker alone, we can say the competitor was cited. With crawler logs and citation analytics we can say whether the engine fetched the client's page at all, what status code it got, and which competitor page it cited instead. We have not found a way to answer that from a mention count. GetMint's published material does not describe a crawler-log product, so for that question we would be working from the outside.

Countries. If a client sells in several markets, the single-country Starter limit bites quickly. Promptwatch includes country-level tracking on every paid plan, and state or city tracking from Business and on agency plans.

Traffic. Boards want to know whether AI visibility produces visits that convert. Promptwatch's visitor analytics do that through a lightweight script, the GTM template or the WordPress plugin. GetMint's listing documents no equivalent.

Content. A small monthly content allowance is fine for a small brand. For programs that need steady output we want a scheduling and approval layer. Promptwatch's Content Agent has a publishing calendar, a monthly budget, publish windows and a review inbox. It is a Business and Enterprise feature, and it is not part of agency plans, which we flag to every agency client.

Where GetMint is a reasonable choice

We would not tell everyone to avoid it. A smaller European brand that wants a tracker, a short to-do list and a few drafts a month for a low entry price is the right audience. The Alexa for Shopping coverage is useful for retail clients, and a no-card trial lowers the risk of testing it.

A fair way to test both

  1. Pick 20 prompts across two topics, including a few comparison prompts.
  2. Run them in a GetMint trial and in Promptwatch's free Explore tier, which covers ChatGPT only.
  3. Compare the competitor lists and the cited sources.
  4. Ask each tool what you should do next, and see whether it can show you evidence.
  5. Check your own crawler access separately, because that is a gap in many programs.

If the evidence step matters to you, the comparison usually resolves quickly.

One caution on any tool

No platform can guarantee an engine recommends a brand. Answers vary by model, country and phrasing, so we tell clients to judge a tool by whether it makes their next action clearer. For us, Promptwatch does that best, which is why our client programs run on it.
