Is ChatSEO Worth It?

We run Promptwatch on client programs. ChatSEO is a GSC chat that can write into WordPress. We would use it for Google chores, not as the GEO scoreboard.

Clients forward ChatSEO the same week they ask if we still need Promptwatch. ChatSEO is a Belgian/French SEO chat: Nicholas Dulait, Paul Vengeons, Léo Leducq. You connect Search Console, you get a plan, you can approve a rewrite into WordPress, Shopify, or Webflow. One of twelve agents is called GEO. We already write and publish. We still measure on Promptwatch. We would not swap the scoreboard for a €29 credit pack.

We might put ChatSEO on a small site that only needed GSC hygiene, next to Promptwatch, not instead of it.

What we checked on their site

Fetched 28 August 2026. chatseo.app/pricing, about, features.md, llms.txt (dated 28 July 2026). Search Console is read-only. CMS write-back is the separate path. Pro adds Google Analytics and MCP/API. DataForSEO is named for research. Languages: English and French.

Twelve agents including GEO (get cited by AI) and NinjaLinking. No public ChatGPT / Perplexity / Gemini / Grok coverage table. No prompt quota for AI answers. Homepage says ranked on Google and cited in AI search. We will not put "cited in AI search" in a QBR as if it were Promptwatch citation analytics.

Pricing we can put in a proposal

Excl. VAT, euros, vendor says same amounts in USD, annual -20%, Stripe, 24-hour refund, cancel anytime.

VendorWhat we can printRole on our accounts
ChatSEO Free€0Trial only. Pricing says 10 then 3/day (max 40/mo). FAQ says 5 prompts. We screenshot after login.
ChatSEO StarterFrom €29/mo100 credits, 1 site, GSC, writer, CMS
ChatSEO ProFrom €49/mo3 sites, GA, MCP
ChatSEO RankerFrom €79/mo10 sites, 5 seats
Promptwatch Explore$010 ChatGPT prompts, measurement smoke test
Promptwatch Essential$95/mo50 prompts, citations, visitor events, 5 AEO articles
Promptwatch Professional$245/mo25M crawler logs, 15 articles

Credits: page header says 1 credit = 1 message. FAQ says heavier tasks cost more. Homepage says it replaces Semrush through Yoast. FAQ says it does not replace SEO tools. Their reviews hub still talks Ranker as custom. Live grid starts Ranker at €79. We put the live grid in the deck and flag the fights. We do not invent a dollar conversion.

Vendor 10,000+ owners, 130,000+ analyses, 4.9/5 on their own hub, logos (Zenchef, HelloWork, Fitness Park, and the rest), GSC stories (Tabary tripled clicks, BRD 225/day, Hyatt +46%). Client-facing we label those ChatSEO's. We do not paste them as our case studies.

When we say yes

Yes as a GSC sidecar on a WordPress brochure site where the client will not buy another SEO suite and we still own Promptwatch for AI visibility. The WordPress publish path is useful. Promptwatch's public CMS list is still Webflow and Framer, WordPress coming. We already write. We might let ChatSEO draft a title. We would not let it own the GEO KPI.

Yes for a founder who is not our retainer and only asked "what should I fix in Search Console this month." Point them at the free login. Tell them the free-prompt copy disagrees with itself.

No as the GEO platform. We run Agent Analytics, citation views, and conversion tracking on Promptwatch. Essential at $95 is the measurement floor we actually use. Professional at $245 is where crawler logs sit. ChatSEO €29 is not that.

No if the client wants one invoice to "do GEO." ChatSEO's GEO agent is on-page help. We would still instrument Promptwatch. Two invoices, two jobs.

How we explain it on a call

ChatSEO is closer to an SEO employee who lives in GSC. Promptwatch is the stack we already run for whether ChatGPT cited the client, which bot fetched the URL, and whether that visit converted. We have used the second one long enough that we will not replace it with a credit chat because the pricing bullet said GEO.

If a client insists on ChatSEO, we keep Promptwatch Explore at minimum so ChatGPT is still sampled. We do not mark our own homework in ChatSEO's GSC graphs.

ChatSEO can be worth a Starter seat for Google chores. It is not worth dropping Promptwatch.
