Promptwatch MCP Server, REST API, Slack, and Looker Studio for AI Visibility Data
How we wire Promptwatch visibility data into Slack, Looker Studio, MCP, and REST API v2 without inventing an API price or replacing the weekly review.
Most clients already have a place they look on Monday. We do not make them live in a second login if we can pipe the same rows. Promptwatch exposes that data through an MCP server, REST API v2, a Slack agent, a Looker Studio connector, plus official ChatGPT and Claude connectors. We still run the weekly review in the project. The pipe is distribution.
We do not publish an API price. Promptwatch does not list a separate API SKU on the public plans we use. MCP and API access are included on paid brand plans from Essential up, and on the agency plans.
What we actually connect
Looker Studio. Free Promptwatch connector, templates for monitors, citations, prompts, and visibility, auto-refresh, shareable dashboards. Data Studio is listed on Professional ($245/mo), Business ($579/mo), and the agency plans. Kick-off at $199/mo includes it. Essential at $95/mo is the measurement program; if the client needs the Looker template, we say which plan has the connector instead of inventing a toggle.
Slack. Map a channel to a project. Chat with live visibility data. Useful for "what moved on the list" in a channel the account already uses. Not an instant alert product. Daily paid checks, then someone asks.
MCP. One-click OAuth. Query visibility scores, citations, prompts, page trackers, and content tools from ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor. The ChatGPT plugin and the Claude connector are the same server in those directories. We use this when the SEO already works in an agent window. We do not use it as a toy demo that burns response budget.
REST API v2. Topics, content generation, Reddit and YouTube socials, page trackers, documented auth. Scoped keys: org or project, including read-only. We issue read-only to a BI contractor. We do not hand a write key to a freelancer.
Explore is free, 10 ChatGPT prompts, and is not an integration program. G2: 4.7/5.
What we will not build
A second warehouse "just in case." A custom alert bot that pages at 2am. A white-label Looker theme unless the client is on custom Promptwatch pricing. White-label is Enterprise, not Kick-off.
Otterly at $29 (Gemini add-on, lag) will not be our Looker source. Peec at $95 may export. Profound Starter at $99 annual is ChatGPT only. If the client already standardized on Peec, we can read their export. We still want crawler logs and citations in Promptwatch if those are in the SOW.
Paid engines in the data: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot, AI Overviews, AI Mode. The connector does not invent a new engine. It shows what the project tracks.
Content generation via API and MCP exists. Review inbox still required. We do not autopublish from a cron job into Webflow or Framer. WordPress publish is still coming soon.
FAQ
Does Kick-off include MCP and Looker?
Yes. Agency Kick-off lists Data Studio, custom reports, and MCP plus API, with unlimited projects and prompts and 10 seats. That is why we put several brands there instead of buying Essential ten times.
Can we replace the monthly slide with a Looker link?
We can share the dashboard. We still write three sentences about what changed in the prompt list. A live tile without that note starts an argument.
How we run it
- Keep the system of record in Promptwatch. Pick one outbound: Slack, Looker, or MCP. Not all three on week one.
- Use a read-only API key if BI is involved.
- Map one Slack channel per client project. No shared mega-channel.
- Leave content write endpoints off until the review inbox process exists.
- hello@1001seomedia.com if you want the pipe on the retainer. Tell us where the Monday dashboard already lives.
