The top platforms for improving AI search visibility in 2025, from the agency side

Our view of the top platforms for improving AI search visibility in 2025, what held up after a year of client work, and why we run programs on Promptwatch.

Choosing a platform for AI search visibility in 2025 meant picking from a young category, often on promises. We have now run client programs long enough to say which things mattered. This is our look back, written with current published pricing as of late October 2026.

What mattered after a year

Dashboards looked similar at the start. Over time the difference came down to whether a platform could explain movement.

Crawler access. More than once, a client's visibility problem was a technical one: a bot blocked by robots.txt or a CDN rule, or pages returning errors to AI fetchers. A tracker without crawler logs cannot show this, so you end up chasing content fixes for an access problem.

Citation sources. Knowing which pages and third-party sources a model cites tells you where to invest. Sometimes the answer is a Reddit thread, sometimes a competitor's comparison page, sometimes an old page of yours.

Attribution. Clients stopped being satisfied with mention counts by the second quarter. They wanted AI-referred visits and conversions.

Action. A good report ends with things to do. A weak one ends with a chart.

Why we run client programs on Promptwatch

Promptwatch is where we do client work because it answers each of those. Prompt tracking runs daily per model, country and language, with Visibility Score, Share of Voice, Sentiment and Position in Answer. Agent Analytics shows IP-verified crawler logs, with the crawl-to-citation path per page. Citation analytics covers pages, domains, Reddit, YouTube and LinkedIn. Visitor analytics reports AI-referred traffic and conversions. The Action Board and content gap analysis give us the to-do list, and Content Refresh and the Content Agent (Business plans) help us execute.

It also keeps adding. As of late October 2026, Search Insights overlays Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster data on AI crawls and citations, which helps when a client asks how classic and AI search relate.

Plans and what they imply

Explore is free with 10 prompts on ChatGPT only. Essential is $95 a month with 50 prompts and no crawler logs. Professional at $245 adds crawler logs and 150 prompts. Business at $579 adds the Content Agent, state and city tracking and more capacity. Agency plans (Kick-off $199, Growth $399, Scale $799) give unlimited projects and prompts, a response cap, and crawler logs, which is how we handle multiple clients.

How the others fit

Other platforms are sensible for the right buyer. AthenaHQ offers a GEO score and an Action Center, with credit-based usage. Scrunch AI combines monitoring with site audits and bot traffic reports. Profound is an enterprise platform with marketing agents. Ahrefs, Semrush and HubSpot offer AI tracking inside their suites, convenient if you already pay for them. We stay with the one that gives us crawler logs, citations and conversions together.

If you are starting from scratch

  1. Define 30 to 50 buyer questions grouped by topic and intent.
  2. Add personas and countries where your audience differs.
  3. Set a baseline for share of voice and sentiment.
  4. Check crawler logs before anything else, since access problems are cheap to fix and costly to miss.
  5. Review citations, pick three fixes, publish, and compare after a few weeks.

A word on promises

We never promise a specific placement. Models vary run to run and between countries. What we commit to is measuring honestly, finding causes, and working through a prioritized list. If a platform or agency guarantees citations, ask how.

For 2025 buyers who are still deciding, the question is the same as it was then: does this tool tell me why, and what to do next?
