Which platforms offer the best prompt tracking to maximize SEO for AI
Which platforms have the best prompt tracking for SEO for AI, judged by what we need on client programs: daily runs, citations, crawler logs and reporting.
We get asked which platform has the best prompt tracking, and the honest first answer is that prompt tracking alone is the least interesting part. Nearly every platform can run prompts and show a score. What we pick for client work depends on everything around it. Here is how we judge platforms, and why we run client programs on Promptwatch.
What we need beyond the prompts
Daily runs by model, country and language
AI answers vary run to run. We need enough repetition to read trends. Promptwatch runs monitors daily per model, country and language, with real-interface monitoring for ChatGPT (Search), Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity, Amazon Alexa and Meta AI, and API-based tracking for Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral and Grok. We tell clients which is which.
Structure for the panel
Topics, tags, intent types and persona stacking let us explain results rather than average them. For multi-market clients, country-level tracking is on every paid plan.
Citation depth
Page and domain citations, plus Reddit, YouTube and LinkedIn reports, are where most of our recommendations come from.
Crawler logs
This is the feature that most separates platforms. Agent Analytics reads IP-verified crawler logs for GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and others, with a citation rate per page. A lot of tools cannot show this at all. It begins on Professional at $245 a month.
Traffic and conversions
Visitor analytics counts AI-referred visits and conversions. Without it, we can report visibility but not business effect.
Agency features
Every agency plan includes unlimited projects, unlimited prompts, ten seats, all models, Agent Chat, custom reports and the Looker Studio connector. Kick-off is $199 a month, Growth $399 and Scale $799. These plans do not include AEO articles or the automated Content Agent, which matters when scoping content work. White-label workspaces and client portals exist for agencies, and we confirm the plan with the vendor when it matters.
How other platforms stack up in our experience
We look at AthenaHQ, Scrunch AI and Profound when clients bring them up. AthenaHQ pairs a GEO score with an Action Center, and its Starter plan is $295 a month for 3,600 credits. Scrunch AI lists a Core plan at $250 a month with four tracked LLMs and an AXP layer. Profound is an enterprise platform with custom pricing and a wider marketing agent scope. Cheaper trackers cover basic monitoring and suit very small teams. We read each of these from vendor pages and the tools' own claims, so we point clients to the live pages for current details.
Why Promptwatch for client work
The deciding factor is rarely the prompt panel. It is the crawler logs and traffic attribution, which let us show clients both why they are or are not cited and what AI traffic does once it arrives. Doing that in one workspace saves us hours each month that used to go on reconciling numbers across tools.
The published customer examples help explain what is possible. Monks, whose clients include Netflix, BMW, Asana and Paycor, uses the Answer Gap Report and Visibility Score for client content roadmaps. We cite that as Monks' use, not as a result of ours.
How to evaluate for yourself
Take ten real prompts to each platform. Check that results repeat. Follow one gap from the chart to a cause and an action. Export a report. Count every step where you had to leave the product.
Limits
No platform can guarantee a recommendation. The best ones make your next decision obvious and your reporting painless. That is the standard we hold them to.
