Best LLM tracking tool for travel and hospitality brands

What we look for in an LLM tracking tool for travel and hospitality brands, how we build place-based prompt panels, and why we run client programs on Promptwatch.

Travel brands come to us with a pattern. Traffic from traditional search looks fine, bookings through third-party platforms keep growing, and someone on the team has noticed that a chat assistant now recommends hotels, tours or routes in a way that skips the brand's own site entirely.

The tool question follows quickly: which LLM tracking tool suits a travel or hospitality business? Here is how we think about it.

Why travel is different

Three things set it apart from a typical B2B brand.

First, the prompt always has a place in it. "Best beach hotel in [region]" and "weekend itinerary for [city]" are location prompts, and the answer depends on the place and often on where the asker seems to be.

Second, the sources that persuade are rarely yours. Booking platforms, review sites, travel bloggers, forum threads and videos tend to feed the answer. A hotel's own page may be crawled and not cited.

Third, the goal is direct bookings. An AI mention that sends travelers to an intermediary is worth less than one that reaches your own booking flow.

A tool has to handle all three, which narrows the field.

The panel we build

We split prompts into groups:

  • Destination discovery: "where to stay in [area]", "best time to visit [place]".
  • Property comparison: "[hotel] vs [hotel]", "best [type] hotel in [city]".
  • Trip type: family, couples, business, group, accessibility needs.
  • Practical: location, amenities, cancellation expectations, nearby transport.
  • Brand: "is [brand] worth it".

We tag each by property or destination and by source market, since a guest from one country may phrase and receive something different than a guest from another. Then we add the competing properties, chains and platforms that regularly show up.

What we run it on

Client programs run on Promptwatch. These are the features that earn their place in travel work.

Location settings. Country-level tracking is on every paid plan. State and city tracking starts on Business and is on all agency plans. Business also has local GEO and SEO targeting, which pins a monitor to exact coordinates (20 m to 5 km) so ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode answer as if asked from that spot. Other models fall back to country, state or city. For a property that competes within a neighborhood, this is a much closer picture than a generic country query.

Language and country panels. Prompt panels run daily per model, country and language, which matters when guests come from several markets.

Citation analytics. We look at which pages and domains carry the answer. Reddit, YouTube and LinkedIn citation reports and offsite mentions often show a travel forum or a video doing the work. That tells us the best next step may be outside the client's website.

Agent Analytics. IP-verified crawler logs show whether AI bots like GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User and ClaudeBot reach rate and offer pages and whether they hit errors. Crawler logs begin on Professional, not Essential.

Visitor analytics. AI-referred sessions and conversions, via a script, GTM or WordPress plugin. We use this to show whether visitors from AI answers reach a booking step.

Content workflow. The Content Agent on Business plans, writes and publishes against gaps with a review inbox. For regulated claims or pricing language we keep review mandatory. Publishing connects to WordPress, Webflow and Framer.

What we do with the results

If a destination prompt returns only booking platforms, we look at whether the client's destination guide pages are crawled and specific enough to answer the question. If a competitor property wins every family prompt, we check what the cited sources say about it and where the client's information is thin. We refresh pages with Content Refresh suggestions and review them by hand. We also keep facts like amenities and policies consistent across the site and listings.

Other tools clients mention

AthenaHQ, Scrunch AI, Profound, Ceyo and Finseo come up. AthenaHQ has strong action workflows, though Starter is single-country and credit-based. Scrunch AI adds audits. Profound targets large enterprises. Ceyo and Finseo emphasize multi-country capture. Otterly.AI and Peec AI work as simple monitors. For travel, we keep choosing Promptwatch because location targeting, citations, crawler logs and traffic are in one workspace.

Budget notes

A free Explore tier covers 10 prompts on ChatGPT only. Essential is $95 a month, Professional $245 and Business $579. Agencies running several travel clients should look at the agency plans, which start at $199 and include city tracking.

Limits

No tool can guarantee that an assistant will recommend a property or route. Results vary by run, season and model updates. We treat the data as direction, and we avoid promising outcomes to clients.
