Mentionnable vs Promptwatch: an agency's comparison for client work
Mentionnable vs Promptwatch from an agency's side: what each does well for client programs, where the gaps are, and why we run client work on Promptwatch.
We get asked for this comparison fairly often, usually spelled "Mentionnable". The product is Mentionable, a French-built GEO tracker, and we have looked at it alongside the other tools in the category. We run client programs on Promptwatch, so we will say up front where we stand. We will also be specific about what Mentionable does well, because it does some things well.
What Mentionable does well
Mentionable runs a market's prompts daily across seven AI engines and records which competitors are recommended in a client's place, which domains the engines reuse as sources, and the fan-out queries ChatGPT and Perplexity run before answering. The entry plan is 79 EUR a month excluding tax, with unlimited team members. Its Agency plan, at 299 EUR a month, lists unlimited client projects, white-label reports and shareable audits.
The feature we like most is page drafting. When no engine cites a client on a prompt, Mentionable reads the pages that are cited and drafts a page in the same format, which a human reviews and publishes. For a small team with little time, that is a useful shortcut, and a clean way to produce first drafts for editors.
For a European brand or agency that wants euro invoicing, daily tracking and a low price, it is a legitimate first tool.
Where we hit limits for client work
These come from Mentionable's own published pages, not from opinion.
- No published crawler logs. We cannot see whether GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot can fetch a client's pages.
- No published visitor analytics that tie AI-referred sessions to conversions. It lists GA4 traffic analytics.
- Drafts are pasted by hand. There is no CMS publishing or review inbox.
- MCP from Pro. The Growth plan is dashboard only.
- Shared credits. Reddit engagement, page audits and generated pages draw from the same scan credits as tracking.
None of those are flaws for every client. They are gaps for the questions clients ask in month two.
What the second-month questions are
In month one the client wants to see where they stand. In month two they ask: "why are we not showing up on this prompt, and is any of this bringing us customers?" To answer, we need three things beyond tracking.
- Crawl access. Promptwatch's Agent Analytics shows real-time, IP-verified AI crawler requests, errors and failure explanations, with a citation rate per page. Crawler logs start on the Professional plan, so we flag that in scoping. They connect through Cloudflare, CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN, custom HTTP or a WordPress plugin.
- Traffic and conversions. Visitor analytics attribute AI-referred visits and conversions per engine, using a small script, a GTM template or the WordPress plugin.
- A way to act. The Action Board produces a prioritized list. On Business and Enterprise, the Content Agent plans, writes and publishes against gaps to WordPress, Webflow or Framer, with a review inbox. Content Refresh suggests diff-style updates for existing pages.
Agency plan comparison
Promptwatch's agency plans are Kick-off at $199, Growth at $399 and Scale at $799 a month. Every agency plan includes unlimited projects, unlimited pitch projects, unlimited prompts, 10 seats, all AI models, crawler logs, visitor analytics, custom reports, the Looker Studio connector, MCP and API. Plans differ on responses, Agent Credits, visitor events and crawler log volume. Agency plans do not include AEO articles, the knowledge base or the automated Content Agent, which is worth knowing if a client wants scheduled publishing.
Mentionable's Agency plan lists 385 prompts and 5,000 credits with unlimited client projects. If a prompt count matters, Promptwatch's unlimited prompts per agency plan change the arithmetic, though responses are capped by plan.
How we would choose
One small European client, tracking only: Mentionable is a good match and cheaper.
An agency with several clients that needs reporting and proof of traffic: Promptwatch. Pitch projects, crawler logs, visitor analytics and the Looker Studio connector save hours every month.
A client who needs content produced at scale: Promptwatch on a brand plan with Business-level Content Agent, with human review turned on.
If in doubt, run the same ten prompts on both for a week. Mentionable has a free trial with no card, and Promptwatch has a free Explore plan. Compare which tool lets you explain a gap.
What we tell clients
Neither tool can promise an engine will recommend a client. Both show where a client stands. What differs is how much of the next step happens in the same place. Our reason for staying on Promptwatch is that the follow-up questions, access, traffic and fixes, are answered in one workspace, and we can show the client evidence for each.
