Peec AI Search Tracking and ChatGPT Brand Visibility
Peec is the ChatGPT brand-visibility tracker a lot of accounts already bought. Here is what we do with that login, and the Promptwatch log we add when the brief grows.
Peec shows up as a finished decision. Someone bought AI search tracking, the sticker was $95, and the question is now "show ChatGPT brand visibility." Peec can do that job for a small prompt list. It is a tracker. It is not the full ChatGPT visibility program we run when the brief also wants citations by URL, crawler proof, and the sessions that followed.
The fuller log is Promptwatch. We do not force a rip-and-replace on week one. We read the Peec export first.
What Peec is good at
Peec at $95 sits on the same number as Promptwatch Essential. Daily checks, a shared prompt list, mention tracking across the models on the plan. For a one-brand shop that wanted ChatGPT brand visibility without an RFP, that is a fair buy.
We will not invent extra-model prices or seat math that is not on the invoice in front of us. If the client is happy and the list is honest, Peec is enough to start tickets.
ChatGPT brand visibility, as we define it, is still mention vs citation. "We were named" is not the same as "ChatGPT used our /compare page." If Peec's export only gives you the first, say so in the deck. Do not upgrade the wording.
Where ChatGPT brand visibility outgrows a tracker
The next questions arrive fast:
- Which of our URLs did ChatGPT use?
- Which publisher did it use instead?
- Did GPTBot fetch the candidate page?
- Did anyone arrive from an assistant after the mention?
Those are citation analytics, crawler logs, and visitor analytics. Peec does not put those on the same project. Promptwatch does.
Essential is $95/mo for 50 prompts. Same sticker, more of the path. Kick-off is $199/mo when we are holding more than one brand and need seats. Explore is free and ChatGPT only (10 prompts) if you need to show a stakeholder Promptwatch next to Peec before budget moves.
Visitor analytics is a script or GTM template. We install it on production. Mentions without sessions stay mentions. Sessions without mentions get a referrer check, not a victory lap.
How we run an account that already pays Peec
- Export the current prompt list. Kill anything that is a keyword dump. Sales language stays.
- Note which engines the Peec plan actually includes. Do not report engines you are not paying for.
- Pull mention vs citation if the export has both. If it only has mentions, we say the citation column is missing.
- Check robots.txt and the CDN for GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther. OpenAI's bot docs are the OpenAI pair.
- Decide whether to keep Peec as the mention UI and add Promptwatch on the same list, or move the list. Parallel for a month is fine. Two lists that drift is not.
Google Search Console generative reports stay for Overviews. They are not ChatGPT brand visibility.
The page work after a miss is the same as any other tracker: first sentence under the heading, one claim per passage, a table if the prompt is a comparison. How to get cited by ChatGPT is the edit order. Peec does not write that sentence.
When we recommend moving
Move when the weekly meeting needs page-level citations, crawl errors, or AI-referred sessions, and Peec cannot show them. Move when you need more than one project without buying the tracker again. Kick-off exists for that.
Stay when the list is under 50, the export is current, and the only ask is "does ChatGPT name us." We will still do crawler checks outside Peec.
Otterly at $29 is the other cheap tab we inherit. Profound Starter at $99 annual is ChatGPT only. Neither is the subject of this post. The three-platform bake-off is Promptwatch, Otterly, Peec.
What we will not do
We will not invent a Peec-to-Promptwatch migration case study. We will not invent client names. We will not call Peec a GEO platform.
We will not tell you Peec is "wrong." It is a tracker. The brief grew.
FAQ
Is Peec enough for ChatGPT brand visibility?
For mention tracking on a short list, yes. For citation-by-URL, crawl proof, and referral sessions, no.
Should we run Peec and Promptwatch together?
For a month, yes, on the same prompts, so you can see the extra columns. After that, pick one system of record. Forked lists are how the numbers stop matching.
Does Essential at $95 replace Peec or sit next to it?
It can replace it if you want one project with citations, crawl, and visits. It can sit next to it if procurement will not cancel Peec this quarter. We care about the list, not the logo.
What to do this week
- Export your Peec prompts. Cut the ones nobody would type into ChatGPT.
- Write down mention vs citation. If citation is missing, say so.
- Confirm AI crawlers are not blocked.
- If you need page-level citations or visitor analytics, create Promptwatch on Essential ($95) or Kick-off ($199) and load the same list.
- If you want us to read the Peec export and say whether to move, email hello@1001seomedia.com. We will not fight a $95 tracker for sport. We will say when ChatGPT brand visibility needs a fuller log.
