Qwairy vs Promptwatch: How We Choose for Client Programs
Qwairy offers a credit-metered GEO suite from €79 a month. We run client programs on Promptwatch. Here is the comparison we put on the whiteboard.
When a prospect drops Qwairy into a discovery call next to Promptwatch, we treat it as a fair question. Both products talk about prompts, citations, action layers and MCP. The difference shows up in how the work actually runs week to week. We run client AI search programs on Promptwatch. We have not run those programs on Qwairy. The Qwairy numbers below come from the public site and pricing page. The Promptwatch numbers come from the published platform fact sheet we use in scopes.
Qwairy on the public page
Qwairy (qwairy.co) sells six modules: Cockpit, Monitor, Act, Analyze, Optimize and Measure. Engines listed include ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini, AI Overviews, Grok, Claude, Mistral, AI Mode and DeepSeek. Sampling is mixed. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Grok are UI plus API. Copilot, AI Overviews and AI Mode are UI. Claude, Mistral and DeepSeek are API. Fact Check is beta.
Pricing: free credits (120 on the homepage, 100 in the FAQ), Starter €79 a month (€65 annual) for 100 prompts and 1,300 credits, Growth €199 for 300 prompts and 3,900 credits plus REST API, Business €449 for 800 prompts with crawler analytics, Looker and alerts. One query costs one credit per model. A content brief costs 50. New analyses pause when credits hit zero. MCP is on paid plans. There is a free audit for ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot without an account. The site claims 2,000-plus brands.
Promptwatch on the fact sheet we use
Brand plans: Explore free (10 prompts, ChatGPT only), Essential $95 a month with a 7-day trial, Professional $245, Business $579. Agency self-serve: Kick-off $199, Growth $399, Scale $799, all with unlimited projects and prompts and ten seats. Annual billing is 12 months for the price of 10.
What we actually use in retainers: prompt tracking with volumes, difficulty and query fan-outs; citation analytics at page and domain level including Reddit and YouTube; Agent Analytics for real AI crawler logs (ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther, Meta AI crawler) with crawl-to-citation paths; visitor analytics for AI-referred traffic and conversions; Content Agents that plan, write and publish to Webflow or Framer through a review inbox. Data sourcing is real UI monitoring across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot, plus Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. G2 is 4.7/5. Published customer count is 1,840-plus brands and agencies.
The whiteboard comparison
Credits vs plan limits. Qwairy meters credits and pauses analyses at zero. Promptwatch meters prompts, responses, visitor events, crawler logs and AEO articles by plan, without a prepaid credit pause on analyses. For a client who tracks many prompts across many engines every day, we would rather forecast Promptwatch response caps than watch a credit bar go red mid-month.
Crawler and conversion proof. Qwairy puts crawler analytics on Business at €449. Visitor-to-conversion attribution is not documented on the listing we use. Promptwatch puts Agent Analytics and visitor analytics in the paid platform we sell into SOWs. That is usually the deciding factor for us. Clients ask whether the bot fetched the page and whether the visit converted. We need those answers in the same workspace.
Sampling. Qwairy is explicit that some models are API samples. Promptwatch's published claim is live UI monitoring across the engines above. When a client disputes a number, we prefer the UI story. We would still spot-check both tools by hand during a trial.
Publishing. Qwairy lists Content Studio and an Action Center. Promptwatch Content Agents draft into a review inbox and publish to connected CMS tools. Our editors still review. The difference is that topics come from live visibility gaps, not only from a brief generator that burns 50 credits each.
Price entry. Qwairy Starter at €79 can look cheaper than Promptwatch Essential at $95. After credit burn, Business for crawler analytics, and the API-vs-UI split, the line items stop being a clean euro comparison. Promptwatch Explore lets us demo ten ChatGPT prompts for free without a credit FAQ mismatch.
Our default recommendation
For the AI search program itself, we recommend Promptwatch. It is what we operate. Crawler logs, citation depth, visitor attribution and CMS publishing after review are the pieces that turn a kickoff into a weekly operating rhythm. Qwairy is a reasonable free-credit experiment if someone wants to poke a long engine list and MCP on a euro-priced Starter. We would not build a multi-client retainer on a meter that pauses analyses, and we would not promise crawler-plus-conversion proof from a plan that gates crawler analytics at Business while leaving visitor attribution undocumented.
Run both if you need to convince an internal skeptic. Ten prompts, two weeks, one page change per prompt. Keep the tool whose export you would send to the client without a second slide of caveats. For us, that tool is Promptwatch.
