Which Promptwatch plan includes city and state tracking?

City and state targeting in Promptwatch are on the Business plan and every agency plan. Essential and Professional are country-level only. What that means when you pick a plan for local AI visibility work.

It's one of the first things to settle when scoping work for a multi-location client, and the answer changed in October 2026. Promptwatch moved state and city tracking up its plan ladder. If you read an older post, including some of ours, that says city tracking starts on Professional, that was correct before and isn't now.

Here is the current picture, from Promptwatch's published plan sheet as of 21 October 2026.

The short answer

State and city tracking are included on:

  • Business, at $579/mo
  • every self-serve agency plan: Kick-off ($199/mo), Growth ($399/mo) and Scale ($799/mo)
  • Enterprise, which is custom

They are not on Explore (free), Essential ($95/mo) or Professional ($245/mo). Those three track by country. Country-level tracking is on every paid plan, and every paid plan runs all AI models with MCP and API access.

What each plan gives a local program

PlanPriceLocation levelPromptsResponses
Essential$95/moCountry506,000
Professional$245/moCountry15018,000
Business$579/moCountry, state, city35042,000
Kick-off (agency)$199/moCountry, state, cityUnlimited10,000
Growth (agency)$399/moCountry, state, cityUnlimited25,000
Scale (agency)$799/moCountry, state, cityUnlimited65,000

Annual billing on any of these gives 12 months for the price of 10. Essential, Professional, Kick-off and Growth have 7-day trials.

Business also brings the automated Content Agent, Shopping Insights and Ads Radar, plus 5 projects, 100M crawler logs and 10M visitor events. Agency plans include Ads Radar and city tracking on every tier but not the automated Content Agent or AEO articles.

How city tracking works once you have it

Location sits on a monitor. Each monitor has a country, an optional state, an optional city, a language, an optional persona and the models it runs. Prompts inside the monitor inherit those settings. So a three-city program is three monitors with the same prompts.

Two things follow from that. Every city copy of a prompt counts as its own prompt, so on Business the 350-prompt cap fills faster than people expect: 20 prompts across 17 cities is 340. And every daily check of a prompt on a model is a response, so 20 prompts on three models in one city uses about 1,800 responses a month. On agency plans, with unlimited prompts, the response budget is the limit.

Which plan we'd pick

For a brand that needs one national view: Essential or Professional. City tracking isn't needed and you'd be paying for it.

For a brand with a handful of cities that matter, and that wants to produce content for them: Business. It's the only brand plan with city targeting, and its Content Agent can draft city pages into a review inbox before they publish to WordPress, Webflow or Framer. Plan on roughly 15 to 17 cities at 20 prompts, or more cities at fewer prompts.

For an agency, or a brand with many cities and a team that writes its own pages: an agency plan. Kick-off fits about five cities at 20 prompts on three models. Growth fits about thirteen. Scale about thirty-six. Unlimited projects mean each client can have its own.

We run client programs on the agency plans, and that's where most multi-location work sits. Our own process is in how we run city-level AI visibility for multi-location clients.

Don't buy a plan for a feature it doesn't have

The easy mistake is picking Professional for its 150 prompts and crawler logs, then trying to report on three cities. It can't do that. If the brief says cities, the plan has to say Business or agency. Check the current plan sheet at promptwatch.com before you sign, since plan limits move.
