ZeroRank alternatives for agencies (2026): six platforms we'd shortlist for client rosters

ZeroRank's Agency plan offers unlimited workspaces, unlimited seats and shareable client dashboards on one answer budget. If you need crawler logs, first-party conversions or clearer white-label terms, these are the alternatives we'd test, ranked for agency work.

ZeroRank built its new plans with agencies in mind, and it shows. The Agency plan is $499 a month for up to 31,500 AI answers and unlimited workspaces. Seats are unlimited on every plan. Client dashboards can be shared as a read-only link with a password, and reports can go out by email through your own SMTP. The MCP server, which gained write tools in July, and the REST API are on every paid plan, which helps if you build your own reporting.

So why look elsewhere? In the agency conversations we have had this month, three reasons come up. ZeroRank does not publish server-side AI crawler logs. Its AI traffic comes from Google Analytics, which ZeroRank itself calls a lower bound. And the white-label terms need checking: the pricing page text lists white-label dashboards on every card without showing which plans exclude it, while the June 2026 changelog put it on an older, higher plan.

ZeroRank facts below come from zerorank.ai/pricing and its platform pages and changelog, read on 28 October 2026. Facts on the other tools come from their published plans as recorded in our tool notes, read in late October 2026. Promptwatch facts come from its llms.txt, re-checked on 21 October 2026.

What we judge an agency platform on

Client structure. One workspace per client, without buying a plan per brand.

Budget across clients. On ZeroRank, scheduled and manual runs share one answer budget across all workspaces, and higher-cost models spend more of it. By ZeroRank's own worked example, the Agency plan covers 350 prompts a day on three standard models. Spread across 20 clients, that is about 17 daily prompts each. Move half the roster to weekly runs and the room per client grows. Whichever tool you pick, do this sum per client before you sign.

White-label. Can the client see your brand, not the vendor's, and is that in writing for the plan you buy?

Diagnosis and proof. Can you see real AI crawler activity on the client's site, and tie AI-referred visits to conversions?

The shortlist

1. Promptwatch

This is the platform we run client programs on. Every agency plan includes unlimited projects and prompts, 10 seats, state and city tracking and Ads Radar. Kick-off is $199/mo for 10,000 responses, 500K visitor events and 10M crawler logs. Growth is $399 for 25,000 responses, 2M and 25M. Scale is $799 for 65,000 responses, 15M and 100M, and adds audit logs. Unlimited pitch projects, custom reports and the Looker Studio connector come on all three.

What we lean on most is the diagnosis layer. Agent Analytics reads AI crawler logs from the client's CDN or host and follows a crawl to a later citation, with error tracking. Visitor analytics run on a small script or GTM template and tie AI-referred sessions to conversions. Promptwatch's llms.txt lists a white-label workspace, client portal and white-label PDF exports for agencies without naming a plan, so ask which plan includes them, the same question you would ask ZeroRank.

Two honest concessions. ZeroRank gives unlimited seats where these plans carry 10. And Promptwatch's automated Content Agent is not on agency plans; it sits on Business and Enterprise, while ZeroRank's approval-gated WordPress and Webflow publishing is on every paid plan.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ was built by former Google Search and DeepMind engineers and is designed around acting on findings. Its Action Center turns gaps into tasks, and a content optimization agent works on pages. Essential is free with 300 credits. Starter is $295/mo for 3,600 credits, where one credit is one AI response, across 11 models with unlimited prompts and competitors at country level. API access and extra credits are paid add-ons. Personas, multi-region support and SSO sit on Enterprise.

The plan page we read does not describe per-client workspaces or white-label, so confirm both before you plan a roster on it. It suits an agency whose team will work a task queue every day.

3. Scrunch AI

Scrunch's distinctive feature is its Agent Experience Platform, which serves AI-optimised versions of pages to LLM crawlers without changing what people see, and it reports AI agent and bot traffic. Core is $250/mo for 125 prompts, 5,000 responses, five site audits, five licences and one brand workspace, on four LLMs. The serving layer, nine LLMs and API access are on Enterprise.

One brand workspace on Core is the agency problem. It fits one large content-heavy client better than a roster.

4. Wellows

Wellows is the closest match to ZeroRank's agency model, and on white-label it is clearer. Every plan has unlimited prompts, projects and seats, white-label reporting and client dashboards, on a monthly balance of AI answers: Basic $29 for 1,800, Standard $97 for 6,500, Growth $249 for 18,000 and Scale $497 for 36,000. It scores visibility on citations and turns cited pages that ignore the client into outreach targets.

It tracks five engines and says it does not track Claude or Copilot. It publishes no crawler logs and no conversion tracking. When the balance runs out, collection pauses until the billing date.

5. Profound

Profound now sells itself as an AI marketer, with agents for research, content, reporting and workflows, and AI search as one channel. The public page shows a 7-day trial and a custom Enterprise plan tracking up to nine engines; our notes estimated Enterprise at about $40k a year. It also mentions a self-serve Agency Growth plan with 400 credits a month per client workspace, without a price.

For an agency whose clients are large marketing organisations buying agents across many jobs, it is worth a call. For a dedicated AI search roster, the platforms above fit better.

6. Rankshift

Rankshift lists unlimited projects and seats on every paid plan, one workspace per client, and all LLMs, with crawler analytics, Looker Studio, MCP and API access listed on each. Starter covers 150 prompts a day and 9,500 credits, Professional 350 and 22,000, Business 850 and 53,000. A 30-day trial is advertised. Prices did not render when our notes were taken, and the depth of its crawler analytics is not documented, so ask for both.

How we'd choose

If ZeroRank's agency model appeals but your clients ask why they dropped and what the program earned, start with Promptwatch. That is the evidence our renewals depend on. Pick Wellows if citation outreach across many small clients is the service and white-label on every plan matters most. Pick AthenaHQ for a task-driven team, and Scrunch for one large brand testing crawler-side serving.

Whichever you trial, load the same three client prompt sets you would run in ZeroRank, run them for two weeks, and compare what each tool can tell you about the worst-performing client. That is usually where the decision makes itself.
