AirOps Alternatives in 2026
Our view on AirOps alternatives for agencies and in-house teams that need AI search measurement and GEO content without running a workflow builder.
Clients sometimes ask us whether they should buy AirOps. Usually a consultant or a vendor deck has put it on their list as the thing that will "scale content for AI search." Our answer depends on who will own it, and most of the time nobody will.
AirOps is a workflow builder. You chain research, drafting, schema, internal links, and CMS steps into pipelines, and each step is metered as a task. For a team with an operations person who enjoys that work, it is a serious tool. For an agency or marketing team that needs AI search results, it adds a build project before the first useful page ships.
What we have seen in AirOps
We do not run client programs on AirOps, so we will stay with what is publicly reported and what our own stack review turned up. Third-party reports we rely on describe task-based billing, with finished articles costing roughly $40 to $70 in tasks. They also describe overage protection that is off by default, and a step from about $200 a month to about $2,000 a month between tiers. G2 reviews commonly mention a steep learning curve. Confirm current pricing in the app before you plan a budget around any of these figures.
The other gap is on the AI search side. AirOps includes some visibility insights, but the entry tier is ChatGPT only with monthly refreshes. We could not find a published crawler log product or visitor analytics that tie AI referrals to conversions. Those are the layers that tell you why a page was or was not cited, and they are the ones we lean on most.
What we use instead, and why
For client work, Promptwatch is the platform we run programs on. The reasoning is practical and it maps to the questions we answer in every monthly review.
- Did the model mention the client? Prompt tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot, and Google AI Overviews and AI Mode.
- Which sources did it use? Citation analytics at page and domain level, including Reddit and YouTube.
- Could a crawler read the page? Agent Analytics, which shows AI crawler requests, crawl-to-citation paths, and errors.
- Did anyone visit and convert? Visitor analytics for AI-referred traffic.
- What do we publish next? Content gap analysis and Content Agents, which draft into a review inbox and publish approved pieces to Webflow or Framer.
The review inbox is the part clients care about. Nothing goes live without a person approving it, and that person is usually us or the client's editor. That keeps brand risk where it belongs.
Pricing is public at Promptwatch. Essential is $95 a month for one project. Agencies can start on Kick-off at $199 a month, with unlimited projects and prompts and ten seats. Compare that with a workflow tool where the plan you need may sit behind a quote.
Other tools worth considering
Not every team needs the same thing, so here is how we sort the alternatives.
If you want a task queue from visibility data, AthenaHQ turns gaps into assignable actions. The credit system and the one-country limit on its starter plan deserve a close read.
If you want cheap volume, content autopilots like Outrank and SEObot publish on a schedule. They do not tell you whether AI engines cite the output, so you would still need a measurement tool beside them.
If you want an editor, Surfer and Clearscope score drafts. They help writers. They do not replace AI search measurement.
If you truly want to build pipelines, AirOps remains a legitimate choice. Turn the overage cap on the first day, name an owner, and run it beside a separate visibility tool.
Our recommendation
Start with the question you need answered. If it is "are we visible in AI answers, and what should we publish to change that," you want measurement and a publish loop in one place, and that is why we use Promptwatch. If it is "how do we automate a content factory," that is a different project, and it should wait until you know which pages AI engines actually cite.
