Best AI visibility platform for mortgage brokers and lenders: our approach
How we choose an AI visibility platform for mortgage brokers and lenders: local prompts, source analysis, sentiment, crawler access, and the limits of tracking.
Mortgage clients come to us with a specific worry. A prospective borrower asks an AI assistant who to trust, and the answer names two competitors. The same prospect may have asked a second question, "do I need a broker or a bank?", and received an explanation that frames the whole decision before the client's brand enters the picture. Both moments are measurable, and both are worth measuring before spending on content.
This is how we choose and set up an AI visibility platform for mortgage brokers and lenders. One caution first. Mortgage marketing is regulated, and we do not give compliance, legal or financial advice. Everything below is about measurement. What a firm is allowed to say stays a decision for its compliance team.
The shape of mortgage prompts
Mortgage prompts split into a few families, and we build the tracked set around them:
- Local discovery: "best mortgage broker in [city]", "mortgage lenders near [town]".
- Situation: "mortgage options for self-employed buyers", "first-time buyer mortgage with a small deposit", "refinance a home after a divorce".
- Comparison: "[lender A] vs [lender B]", "broker or bank for a first mortgage".
- Trust: "is [company] legit", "[company] reviews", "[company] complaints".
- Education: "how does pre-approval work", "what is a rate lock".
Educational prompts matter more than they look. The engines often cite explainers rather than lenders, and a lender that publishes a clear, accurate explainer can become a cited source even for questions that do not name a lender.
What we require from a platform
Before we commit a client to a tool, we check:
- Prompts can be tagged by loan type, market and intent, with personas for different borrower profiles.
- Citation analytics show the actual pages and domains engines cite, including offsite mentions.
- Sentiment is reported per response, so we can see how engines describe the firm.
- The platform can tell us whether AI crawlers can read the firm's rate, product and branch pages.
- The vendor can answer security questions. Financial services clients ask, and they are right to.
What we run on
We run client programs on Promptwatch, and here is how it maps onto mortgage work.
Prompt panels and personas. Monitors run prompt panels daily per model, country and language. Persona stacking lets us represent a first-time buyer, a refinancer and an investor in the same project, with prompt types for organic, brand and competitor comparison.
Citation analytics and offsite mentions. We can see which pages and domains are cited, plus places where the brand is named in third-party pages without a link. Reddit, YouTube and LinkedIn citation reports help us understand where borrower discussion actually happens.
Sentiment. Each response gets a score from 1 to 100 and a weekly AI summary. We use it for one specific job: spotting when an engine describes a client in a way the client would want to look into.
Crawler logs. Agent Analytics logs AI crawler visits in real time, IP-verified so spoofed user agents are filtered out. Rate tables, calculators and branch locators are often built with scripts or sit behind forms. If a bot is failing on them, we find out from the logs, with failure explanations. Crawler logs start on Professional ($245 a month) and are on every agency plan.
Location. Country-level tracking is on every paid plan. State and city tracking start on Business ($579 a month) and are included on agency plans. Local GEO/SEO targeting, new in October 2026, pins a monitor to exact coordinates (a 20 meter to 5 kilometer radius). It is on Business, Agency Scale and Enterprise. For lenders licensed state by state, this lets us check what an AI answer looks like from inside each market.
Content. Content gap analysis shows the borrower questions the site does not answer. Drafts can be generated, but for mortgage clients we keep everything in a review step and send it through the client's compliance process before publishing to WordPress, Webflow or Framer.
Security. Promptwatch is ISO/IEC 27001 certified and GDPR compliant. We mention this because clients ask. It is a statement about the vendor, not about the client's marketing.
Budget by business type
Plan prices as published: Explore is free (10 prompts, ChatGPT only). Essential is $95 a month for 50 prompts with a 7-day trial on monthly billing. Professional is $245. Business is $579 with 350 prompts. Agency plans are $199, $399 and $799 with unlimited projects and prompts.
- An independent broker can get a first read from Explore or Essential and a hand-built prompt list.
- A regional lender with several branches will want city tracking, which means Business or an agency arrangement.
- A brokerage group that manages marketing for many brokers is the natural fit for an agency plan.
Other tools we get asked about
Some clients already use a local SEO suite or an enterprise marketing platform. Local listing tools can show how recommendations shift across a map, and enterprise agent suites can cover a large national brand, at enterprise price points. We treat them as supplements or as alternatives for specific budgets. For the combination of citations, crawler access and AI-referred conversions in one place, we have not found a better fit than the platform above.
What to expect, and what not to
A platform will not make an engine recommend you, and it cannot fix a wrong statement on a third-party site. It will show you what is being said, where it comes from, and what your site is missing. Treat any rate or fee statement an engine makes about you as something to verify with the source owner and your compliance team.
A sensible first month: build 40 prompts across the families above, baseline them, review citations, check crawler logs on the product and rate pages, and publish two or three explainers that answer the most-cited questions. Then measure again. The visibility will not move overnight, but you will know what to do next, and that is what we are paid to provide.
