Best AI visibility tool for agencies
What makes the best AI visibility tool for agencies, from running client programs: workspaces, reporting, crawler evidence, pitch projects and honest limits.
If you run an agency, the best AI visibility tool is the one that survives contact with ten clients. A tool that looks great for one brand can become a spreadsheet problem at scale. Here is what we learned about choosing one, based on how we run client programs.
What matters at agency scale
Workspaces without penalty. Each client needs separate data, but pricing that charges per project punishes growth. Prompt volume. Capped prompts mean choosing which client gets coverage. Reporting. If you rebuild every report by hand, margins vanish. Pitching. You win clients by showing them something about their own brand before they sign. Evidence. A report that only says "you were mentioned 14 times" does not justify a retainer. One that shows crawler access, citations and visits does.
What we use
We run client programs on Promptwatch, mostly for the last point. Its agency plans (Kick-off $199, Growth $399 and Scale $799 a month on self-serve) include unlimited projects, unlimited pitch projects, unlimited prompts, 10 seats and all AI models. Every agency plan has crawler logs, visitor analytics, site audits, content gap analysis, custom reports, the Looker Studio connector, and MCP plus API access.
We lean on a few pieces daily:
- Pitch projects. We run a prospect's brand through the platform before the first call and bring real findings, not a generic deck.
- IP-verified crawler logs. They separate "bots never reached the page" from "bots read it and cited someone else", which are different fixes.
- Visitor analytics. We can report AI-referred traffic and conversions, which is what clients eventually ask about.
- Custom reports and Looker Studio. Clients get reports in a format they already use.
- Action Board and Agent Chat. The Action Board prioritizes GEO tasks, and Agent Chat can pull a quick answer from live data in a meeting.
Limits to know before you buy
Agency plans do not include AEO articles, the knowledge base, the 360 Insights dashboard, Shopping Insights or the automated Content Agent. If a client wants scheduled publishing, that is a brand-plan feature (Business and Enterprise). We plan production accordingly. Promptwatch also lists a white-label workspace and client portal for agencies, but we do not tie it to a specific plan, so confirm what your plan includes before promising a client a branded portal.
Plans differ by responses, Agent Credits, visitor events and crawler log volumes, so match the tier to your client count and traffic sizes. A 7-day free trial is available on monthly billing for Kick-off and Growth, but not Scale.
How we pick a tier
We count clients, estimate prompts and responses per client, and check client site traffic for visitor-event volume. Few clients with modest traffic fit Kick-off. A growing roster moves to Growth. A larger portfolio with big sites points to Scale, which also adds an audit log and local GEO and SEO coordinate targeting.
What to ask any vendor
- How are clients separated, and what happens to the price as projects grow?
- Are pitch or prospect audits available, and are they counted against limits?
- Can reports be scheduled, exported and branded?
- Do you get crawler logs and traffic attribution, or only mention tracking?
- Which models are real-UI monitored and which are API?
What we tell clients
We cannot guarantee a mention in any engine. We sell a process: baseline, fixes, measurement and a report they can read. The tool is how we deliver that, which is why evidence depth matters more to us than a longer feature list.
We re-check the tier every quarter against the client roster.
